![]() Kang successfully defeated the four-armed beast, and went on to take down Shang Tsung himself. The Shaolin monk Liu Kang recognized this threat, and entered the tournament in an effort to thwart Shang's plan. Shang Tsung was basically the Bobby "The Brain" Heenan to Goro's Andre the Giant, and was using the big guy to create enough chaos on Earthrealm for Outworld to conquer it. In these cases, I just listed whoever killed the evil sorcerer/emperor/necromancer/dragon guy/god at the end.Īt the outset of the first Mortal Kombat title, Goro was standing as the reigning Mortal Kombat champion for 500 straight years (after defeating the Great Kung Lao). Also, some of the games didn’t feature the typical “tournament” format. After doing some internet scrounging consisting of YouTube videos, fan forums, wiki entries, and more, I'm closer to understanding who the victors of Mortal Kombat’s many games are. Even though I’m a lifelong fan of the long-running series, I wasn’t even sure who actually won the various Mortal Kombat tournaments in the canon. Mortal Kombat can be one of the most confusing, with its numerous realms, powers, alternate storylines, and return appearances of seemingly dead characters. They often feature a roster of dozens, each with their own motives, origins, endings, and relationships with other characters. If there’s one corner of gaming with more incomprehensible story arcs than all the others, it’s the fighting genre. What are your thoughts on Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms? What was the most surprising moment for you? Also, are you hoping for more live-action and animated Mortal Kombat films? That Hashtag Show wants to hear from you! The non-stop action and the fight scenes and the fighters’ special moves overall just make this move fun to watch. Personally, I enjoyed this more than the live-action movie, but I’m sure some of you will say I’m crazy about that. If you are a Mortal Kombat fan then Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms is definitely a must-watch. It was mainly a Liu Kang and Scorpion story with their supporting cast. Also because of this, we didn’t get to focus on a lot of the characters. With the stories going back and forth it just felt like it was rushed. While it was nest getting both stories, they could have easily been two separate films. My big thing is there was almost too much going on. While all of the above was amazing I did have a few issues with Battle of the Realms. If this action didn’t make you happy as a Mortal Kombat fan nothing will. From the shaping of the bones, the heads rolling, and the blood flying the animation and the sounds brought it all to life and didn’t hold back any details. The animation and sounds also help make this movie a gory one for the gas. Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms was pretty much non-stop action. What I mean is if you are a fan of the blood, guts, and gore of the games there is plenty of that in this movie. The creative team did a great job using the games as inspiration. One of the best things about this whole movie was the action. From here both storylines merge together and the action continues. Shinnok does get the Kamindogu and with the remnants combined, he takes the power of the One Being. Once Scorpion is no longer needed he is attracted but with the help of Sub Zero. Scorpion, who is the “key” to opening this vault tries to run but is captured and the vault is opened. Shinnok who wants to destroy the realms needs to unlock a vault containing the Kamidogu, the last remnant of the One Being. ![]() While all this is going on another storyline is brewing.
